Unfolding Us

Updated: May 14, 2020

What was the most challenging situation you have ever faced? How did you grow from it? Such questions make us reflect on our most demanding moments and how we overcame them which shows how much we have grown and how strong we have become from what we were in the past. Personal growth is learning through our own experiences and the experiences of others to better ourselves in all aspects that we require. It can help increase awareness about ourselves, identify and develop our talents and flaws; it helps to enhance our quality of life and contribute to the realization of our dreams and aspirations. If you do something wrong, you learn what's right, and the next time that thing comes up, you do the right thing. An individual’s growth is determined by the way they choose to live their life; whether you choose to stay in your own bubble or to explore the world outside and live your life accepting every new opportunity you get and embracing it. You cannot sit and wait for the universe to give you what you want; you have to go out and work for it. It is never easy, moreover you will face new challenges that test your beliefs and strength but the only way to reach your full potential is to take that test and prove yourself without any hesitation. Personal growth is the key to development and maturity which can help us have a positive outlook on life and create a confident vibe around us. It can also create healthy relationships with others and yourself leading to a more productive version of you. Our growth can be hindered by many obstacles such as family issues, financial complications but the most immense obstacle is you. Your negativity and the fear of failure; failure is not the end of the world but more of a new chance for you to do better. When you fail, you do not start from scratch but from experience, from new ideas, from a better version of you; you do not fail when you don’t achieve your goal but you fail when you don’t try the best you can because that is what makes you unique from other; your journey is what defines you, not your success or failures. “An integral being knows without going, sees without looking and accomplishes without doing” – Lao Tzu. We all outgrow the environment around us and we do not fit in one place anymore but if we keep trying to stay the same, we either hurt ourselves or the people around us. We owe it to yourselves to understand who we are and what we are capable of despite what we face. Change may not be what we want but is essential for our survival.
